High Bridge Restaurant

In this studio we were all asked to pick a spot on the High Bridge in New York City above the Harlem River and create something to bring more attention to this historic bridge. I decided to create a restaurant that would be carved into the side of an existing pier overlooking downriver. This would be a small intimate seating area in the carved pier with an outdoor area attached to the side. This is meant to bring people from the city out and experience the quiet outside away from all the hustle and bustle. The windows are bent to create the effect that the weight of the pier and bridge itself are pushing down while the structure surrounding the pier is light and airy and gives the impression of being weightless.
